Cake Recipient Terms & Conditions

Welcome to We Bake a Change. Our mission is to bring moments of joy to individuals and families going through difficult times. All cakes are created and donated by volunteer bakers who give their time, skills, and resources out of kindness. By submitting a cake request, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions:

1. Accuracy of Information

All information provided in your request must be true and accurate. Misrepresentation, incomplete details, or false claims may result in denial of your request.

2. No Guaranteed Acceptance

Submitting a request does not guarantee that you will receive a cake. Requests are fulfilled based on availability, location, timing, and baker capacity.

3. Creative Freedom of Bakers

Our volunteer bakers, whether licensed professionals or skilled hobbyists, have full creative freedom over the design and final appearance of the cake. You may share preferences or themes, but they are not guaranteed. No remakes or revisions will be provided.
If you require a licensed baker due to personal preference or legal requirements, you must clearly state that in your request. We will try to accommodate, but it is not guaranteed.

4. Volunteer Nature of Bakers

Cakes are donated by individuals who generously give their time and resources. Please treat all bakers with respect and understanding. Any disrespect, harassment, or inappropriate behavior toward bakers or staff may result in immediate cancellation of your request and future ineligibility.

5. Pickup & Delivery

Not all bakers offer delivery. If delivery is unavailable, you are responsible for picking up the cake at the agreed location and time. Failure to pick up the cake may result in forfeiture. You are responsible for the safe handling and transport of the cake once it has been picked up or delivered.

6. Health & Safety Disclosure

Many cakes are prepared in home kitchens, not commercial or licensed facilities. By requesting a cake, you acknowledge and accept potential risks, including allergens, cross-contamination, food sensitivities, and variations in preparation or storage environments.
If you have strict dietary or medical needs, please disclose them clearly, understanding that accommodations may not always be possible.

7. Liability Release

By submitting a request and accepting a cake, you release We Bake a Change, its volunteers, staff, and bakers from all liability related to the consumption, handling, transportation, or storage of the cake. You accept full responsibility for how the cake is managed once it is received.

8. No Resale or Profit Use

All cakes are donated and may not be sold, raffled, or used for any profit-generating purpose. They are intended solely for the individual or event stated in your request.

9. Communication Requirements

Timely communication is essential. If you do not respond to messages within 48–72 hours, your request may be passed to another family or canceled. Continued lack of communication may affect future eligibility.

10. Photo & Story Permission

You will be asked on the form whether you permit We Bake a Change to share your story or cake photos for mission-related or promotional purposes. Your story will not be shared without your consent.

11. Agreement to Terms

By submitting your request, you confirm that you have read and understand these Terms & Conditions, accept all expectations and responsibilities listed, release We Bake a Change and its volunteers from liability, and agree to respectful communication and conduct.
